Facets and Angles House

Designed for a visionary client who requested a complete departure from traditional orthogonal architecture, this Florida residence was conceived not merely as a space to display art, but as a piece of art itself. By eliminating parallel surfaces, the home completely breaks the mold of conventional residential design, resulting in a highly dynamic and engaging environment.

The exterior is defined by a bold, faceted envelope, where massive white geometric panels fold and intersect in unpredictable, origami-like arrangements. These sharp, sculptural forms are tempered by flat roof overhangs finished with warm wood tones, which provide a rich textural contrast to the crisp white facade. Nestled heavily into the site, the home is surrounded by dense tropical foliage, including mature palm trees and lush ferns, establishing a striking dialogue between rigorous geometric architecture and organic nature.

Inside, the spatial experience is entirely unconstrained by standard right angles. The interior walls and ceilings vault and slope dramatically, creating highly unconventional and deeply intriguing living volumes. Massive, irregularly shaped expanses of glass serve as transparent canvases that frame panoramic, vibrant views of the surrounding jungle and the ocean beyond. The interior palette remains grounded and sophisticated, utilizing polished concrete-style flooring and slatted wood screens that perfectly complement modern, minimalist furnishings like clean-lined white sofas and sculptural leather lounge chairs.

The outdoor living areas are designed to seamlessly integrate with the home’s radical geometry. A smooth, curving swimming pool wraps around the edge of the property, introducing a fluid, organic counterpoint to the sharp architectural angles of the main structure. Adjacent to the water, a spacious, open-air lounge is sheltered beneath a heavy, wood-wrapped canopy, offering a shaded space for relaxation. As evening falls, the home takes on a new life; interior illumination radiates through the complex, angled glazing, transforming the entire structure into a glowing, habitable sculpture set against the dark Florida sky.
